Nylon manja worth more than Rs2.35 lakh seized | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: Tehsil police have seized probably the biggest nylon manja consignment in the city after intercepting a truck coming from Delhi to deliver material worth more than Rs 2.35 lakh on Wednesday.
Tehsil police, under senior inspector Jayesh Bhandarkar, booked 61-year-old Kolba Chawle and the owner of the Nagpur-Bhopal truck and seized 336 thread spools (chakris) along with plastic kites. Sources said a substantial quantity of nylon manja comes to the city from Delhi in trucks and gets delivered to the wholesalers in central Nagpur.
Police said the truck was supposed to deliver the consignment at the Gandhibagh-based Nagpur-Bhopal Transport. It was during interrogation of the manager of the transport company that the name of Chawle had come to the fore. Police had subsequently rounded him up too.
Tehsil police have registered an offence against Chawle and the owner of the transport company apart from seizing the truck.
