According to the new rules, after getting a place in medical, students will now have to complete MBBS studies in a maximum of 9 years.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has implemented new rules for students pursuing medical studies after 12th. Now there will be no compulsion of minimum marks on the students. Rather, they will be able to sit in NEET only on the basis of passing percentage in 12th. The provision of age has also been amended and the period has been extended by one month.

As per the amendment, the student should have completed 17 years of age by January 31. To enable more and more students to take the exam, the period of 1 month has been extended. After getting a place in medical, students will now have to complete MBBS studies in a maximum of 9 years.

If the college gives admission in any other way other than counseling, fine will be imposed.
If the college admits the student through any method other than counseling, then the college will have to pay a fine of 1 crore or the fee charged during the entire course (whichever is higher). In case of such mistake for the second time, twice the number of such seats in the college will be removed with double the fine.

Selection on the basis of marks in case of equal rank
If two or more students have the same rank, then marks obtained in Physics followed by Chemistry and Bio will be considered. If the marks are also equal, then the selection will be done by drawing a draw through computer.

Will get place in PG merit through next
It has been decided to implement NEXT (National Exit Test) from NMC-2024. Educationist Ashish Arora told that students will have to give this test in the fifth year of MBBS. With this one exam, there will be no need for students to give separate entrance for PG.

Students will get place in PG merit only on the basis of result of Next. However, students will be allowed to practice medicine from the next exam only. This rule will be applicable to the students who have studied from the country and abroad.
