After Chandigarh and SYL canal, now the political turmoil has started regarding the High Court. This issue arose after a claim made by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar. In this, he said that CM Bhagwant Mann has demanded a separate High Court for Punjab in New Chandigarh. Congress Legislature Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa has sought clarification on this. However, no response has been given so far from the Aam Aadmi Party or CM Bhagwant Mann.

This was Khattar’s claim

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar sent a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. It said that the conference was held on 30 April. In this, CM Bhagwant Mann demanded a separate High Court in New Chandigarh in front of the Chief Justice of the High Court. New Chandigarh comes under Punjab. He said that this is the right time when separate High Courts should be made for Punjab and Haryana.

Bajwa said – it is against the interests of Punjab

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Congress MLA Pratap Singh Bajwa said that Bhagwant Mann should clarify whether he has really talked about setting up a High Court for Punjab in New Chandigarh. If so, it is against the interests of Punjab. Only the existing High Court building should be given to Punjab. Chandigarh was initially the capital of Punjab. Why would the High Court of Punjab leave Chandigarh? This will weaken Punjab’s right over Chandigarh as well.
