The case that made Afshan a 50 thousand prize don
Land was taken by forming a firm named Vikas Construction near Raini village of Dakshin Tola in Mau district of UP. A warehouse began to be built on it. After the godown was ready, the company rented it to FCI i.e. Food Corporation of India. This firm was registered in the name of 5 people. The first name on paper was that of Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afshan Ansari. Then there was the name of his two brothers-in-law, Anwar Shahzad and Atif Raza. The fourth name was of Ravindra Narayan Singh and the fifth was of Zakir Hussain alias Vicky.

After the godown was handed over to FCI, the police came to know from local sources that the land had been wrongly acquired. After this, the Revenue Department was given the responsibility of its investigation. Tehsildar PC Srivastava was called and the team reached the spot. In a two-day investigation, it was revealed that the land on which the Vikas Construction firm had set up the godown was actually given on lease to Dalits. Later it was wrongly named after him.

The Revenue Department had submitted its investigation report to the government. On the basis of the report, in the year 2020, action was taken against 5 people including Afshan Ansari and the two brothers in the case of land grabbing. A case was registered against all under the Public Property Damage Act.

In June 2021, policemen getting attachment boards installed on the land of Afshan and his brothers.

After one year i.e. in June 2021, the administration and heavy police force reached the godown with bulldozers. This action was being shown live on TV channels. The boundary wall was demolished before the bulldozer. Then encroachment was removed from the land. While this action was taking place, Mukhtar was in jail and Afshan was away from the eyes of the police. After 7 months, on the basis of this case, on January 31, 2022, the Gangster Act was imposed on Afshan. The reward amount on him was increased to Rs 25,000.

All four criminals went to the court, but Afshan did not reach
After being named in the land fraud, the police was searching for Afshan from place to place. From Ghazipur to Mau, the police raided Atiq’s ancestral house and his secret hideouts several times to arrest Afshan. But, he did not get success anywhere. Even in the hearing of this case, all four people including two brothers of Afshan appeared in the court. But, Mukhtar’s wife has not come before the police till date.

Total prize money reached 75 thousand on Afshan
On April 20, the Mau police announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on Afshan for not appearing in the court and absconding despite continuous notices. While a reward of Rs 25,000 was already declared on him in Ghazal Hotel land deal in Ghazipur and in the case of possession of government land in Nandganj. Which was increased to Rs 50,000 by the Ghazipur police on Wednesday (April 19). In this way, a reward of 50 thousand rupees has been declared on Afshan from Ghazipur district and 25 thousand rupees in Mau.

Afshan has been booked under sections 406, 420, 386 and 506 of IPC at Ghazipur Kotwali. This case has been filed by Afshan’s uncle regarding embezzlement of crores. Apart from this, a case is also registered in Mau Kotwali under the Gangster Act. Of the total 11 cases registered against him, 3 are from Mau and 8 from Ghazipur district.

Afshan IS-191 gang member in police records
On 19 April 2023, Ghazipur Police released the list of Most Wanted Criminals. District’s SP Omveer Singh read out 11 names in turn. The 12th belonged to Mukhtar’s wife Afshan. He said, the prize money of Afshan has been increased from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 50 thousand.

After increasing the reward amount on Afshan, the Mau police reached the ancestral residence of Mafia Mukhtar Ansari in Mohammadabad to find him.

Afshan has cases registered against him in 6 cases including encroachment of government land in Ghazal Hotel Land Deal, Nandganj. Afshan Ansari’s identity in police records is as a member of the Inter State-191 gang. In some cases, along with him, his two brothers have also been named by the police. The UP Police is raiding places in Ghazipur, Mohammadabad, Mau and Lucknow in search of Afshan.

After doing his initial studies in Yusufpur, Mukhtar reached the city for graduation. Took admission in Ghazipur PG College. Whenever there was time, he would reach to play cricket on the ground of Townhall. He was a tall batsman, so he used to hit long sixes. Afshan’s house was near this ground in Sayyedwada locality. Afshan kept looking at Mukhtar while coming and going. Mukhtar would also see, but there was never any conversation between the two.

Afshan used to study in a Girls Inter College in the city itself, which was near the PG College. Here also both maintained the sequence of looking at each other. After a few days, Mukhtar gained courage and spoke to Afshan. Both were interested in each other, so the meetings started increasing. The meeting turned into love and both got married in 1989. They have 2 children Abbas and Umar Ansari.

Mukhtar became the biggest don of Purvanchal after the murder of MLA
The date was November 25, 2005. MLA Krishnanand had gone to inaugurate a cricket tournament in a neighboring village in a normal vehicle instead of a bulletproof vehicle. As soon as they left the program, a silver gray colored SUV stopped in front of Bhanwarkol’s Basaniya Pulia.

8 people got down from the SUV and fired AK-47 on MLA Krishnanand Rai’s vehicle. The entire vehicle was strewn with the body. At least 500 rounds of bullets were fired at the spot. 7 people died. When the postmortem took place, 67 bullets were removed from these seven bodies. Ramnarayan Rai, brother of MLA Krishnanand, who was riding in the rear car, says that the killers were saying, “Hit them, these people have made the brother very upset.” People tell that this brother was none other than Mukhtar Ansari.

Former block chiefs Shyam Shankar Rai, Ramesh Rai, Akhilesh Rai, Munna Yadav, Sheshnath Patel and Nirbhay Narayan Upadhyay were killed along with Krishnanand Rai. After this massacre, there was a lot of sabotage. There was an uproar. MLA’s wife Alka Rai registered a case against Mukhtar Ansari, Afzal Ansari, mafia don Munna Bajrangi, Atahar Rehman alias Babu and Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva.

Mukhtar Ansari was lodged in different jails of the country for the last 18 years. In the year 2021, the UP government had advocated in the Supreme Court to shift Mukhtar from Punjab jail to UP, after which he was brought back to UP on April 2021. Since then he is lodged in Banda Jail.

Atiq’s wife Shaista also has a reward of 50 thousand
Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista is at number three in the list of women criminals of UP Police. Like Afshan, a reward of 50 thousand has been declared on him. After the Umesh Pal murder case on February 24, UP STF and police are continuously searching for Shaista. Shaista has been nominated by Umesh’s family members in this murder case.
