Notice to Tharoor in Sunanda Pushkar Death Case: Delhi Police reaches High Court against release from Patiala House Court, hearing to be held on February 7

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor got a clean chit in the death case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar. Against this, the Delhi Police moved the High Court. According to media reports, the Patiala House Court acquitted Tharoor in August last year. Delhi Police has filed a petition against this decision. Also, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Tharoor. The court has fixed the date of next hearing on 7 February 2023.

Tharoor was accused of mental harassment and abetting the suicide of his wife Sunanda.

At the same time, Tharoor’s lawyer Vikas Pava has demanded an order from the High Court not to share the records related to the case with anyone. He said that this should not be done. At the same time, the court said that the records will not be shared with any person who is not connected with the case.

In 2014, the dead body was found in a five star hotel in Delhi.
Sunanda Pushkar died on 17 July 2014 at Five Star Hotel in Delhi. His dead body was found lying on the bed in the hotel room. After a long investigation, the Delhi Police registered a case against her husband Shashi Tharoor under IPC 498A (husband or his relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide).

Thanked the court for getting bail
Tharoor had thanked the court when the court had given its verdict. He had said that I was suffering pain and torture for the last 7 years. Special Judge Gitanjali Goyal had quashed the case while giving the verdict. Advocate Vikas Pahwa appeared in the court on behalf of Tharoor. Tharoor also participated in it. The court had reserved its judgment on April 12.

Tharoor’s statement – ​​I had faith in the judiciary
After the court verdict, Tharoor had said that I thank Judge Gitanjali Goyal for acquitting me from the case registered against me by the Delhi Police. I have already said that the allegations are baseless. The case being filed against me after Sunanda’s death was like a nightmare, which has now passed.

Tharoor had further said that there were many allegations against me, bad things were said in the media, but I kept faith in the judiciary. With the victory of justice, I hope that my family and I will be able to live in peace with the memories of Sunanda. I would also like to thank my lawyers Vikas Pahwa and Gaurav Gupta.

Sunanda had told a friend that her husband had a relationship with a non-woman.
Senior journalist Nalini Singh, a friend of Sunanda Pushkar, had said in a statement that Tharoor had a relationship with a woman named Meher Tarar. Sunanda had told him that Tharoor and Meher had stayed together in a Dubai hotel for three nights in June 2013. One day Sunanda called Nalini, then she was very sad.
