Nokia has launched its new 5G phone in the Indian market, extending the G-series in the country. Nokia is not a prominent player in the smartphone arena but the company dishes out devices that have a design appeal, are durable and offer a stock Android experience. The Nokia G42 5G is powered by a Qualcomm chipset and comes with an IP rating. The new Nokia phone competes with the likes of Redmi 12 5G, Realme 11 series and a few more brands available in the market.

Nokia G42 has launched in India for Rs 12,599 which gets you the lone 6GB + 128GB variant. The phone will be available through the online store from September 15 in the country.

Nokia G42 5G sports a 6.56-inch display that offers HD+ resolution with 90Hz refresh rate. The screen offers 560 nits of peak brightness and gets Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The phone weighs 193 grams and comes with a thickness of 8.55mm. The company is using around 65 percent of recycled plastic to design and manufacture the phone. It is powered by a Snapdragon 480+ chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which is further expandable up to 1TB using the microSD card slot.
It runs on the stock Android 13 version devoid of any bloatware and ads, something that is prevalent in this price range. Nokia promises two OS upgrades and three years of security updates for the device. The phone has a triple rear camera system that consists of a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. The front of the phone has an 8MP fixed-focus camera for selfies and video calls. Nokia has packed the device with a 5000mAh battery which supports 20W charging speed via QC 3.0 and PD 3.0 standards.
