Noida needs electric bus connectivity, FONRWA writes to CM Yogi Adityanath | Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: The Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) wrote to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath demanding electric bus connectivity between sectors as some of them are 10-15 kms apart and pose a problem for locals to commute.
“Owing to developmental initiatives in the district, new sectors have come up in Noida resulting in a distance of 10 to 15 kms between old and new sectors. The residents are facing difficulties in travelling from one sector to another, as there is no proper public transport connecting them,” said KK Jain secretary general FONRWA.
Jain added that for better connectivity between various sectors, electric buses are required to run as city bus service.
“We have requested CM Yogi to provide the electric bus transport facility for Noida as this will not only give the residents the opportunity to opt for public transport instead of their own vehicles, reducing petrol consumption, but will also reduce air pollution, which is one of the most critical problems faced by citizens across NCR region,” added Jain.
While Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) plans to run city bus service through 50 buses across 11 routes connecting the metro stations as feeder buses soon. But residents maintain that these do not serve the purpose of internal sector reach or last mile connectivity as they ply on main roads and metro routes only.
The purpose of electric buses is to curb the rising pollution, he further added.
