No IND vs PAK In U19 WC 2024 Despite Teams Being Part Of Same Group In Super Six- Here’s Why

The ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 is currently underway in South Africa. While the group stage of the tournament has come to an end, the tournament has moved into the Super Six stage of the competition. Even though India vs Pakistan is a much sought-after rivalry in any level of the sport, there won’t be an IND vs PAK match in the Super six stage of the U19 World Cup 2024.

Both the teams are clubbed in the same group in Super Six, yet the two teams won’t square off in this round. This is because of the format of the tournament which means that even though teams are part of the same group, chances are that they won’t face each other.

Why Will There Be No IND vs PAK  Match In Super Six Round Of U19 World Cup 2024?

As per the format of the tournament, in the Super Six round each team will play two teams who finished in different positions than them in the group stage. This means that as India and Pakistan both topped their respective groups, they won’t be locking horns againts each other. India won all 3 of their matches and topped Group A with a net run rate of  +3.240, the highest across the four groups. On the other hand, Pakistan also won all their three group stage matches to top Group D. They had a net run rate of +2.180. Both the teams continue to remain unbeaten in the tournament.
