Cyrus Mistry lost his life on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway on Sunday. Gadkari said that the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway on which this accident took place is actually very dangerous. There the traffic PCU is 1.20 lakh which is the highest as compared to the rest of the highway. According to Gadkari, it has to be brought down to 20 thousand PCU.

Gadkari narrated the story of 4 CM’s cars
Gadkari told India Today the story of four Chief Ministers regarding seat belts in cars. He said- Some time ago I was sitting in the vehicles of four Chief Ministers. All of them had clips on the seat belt socket on the front seats of their vehicles. This was done so that the warning alarm would not sound. I scolded the driver and removed the clip.

Target to reduce road accidents by 50% by 2024
During the interview, the Union Minister said that by 2024, the government wants to reduce road accidents by 50 percent. For this the International Security Standard will be followed. Gadkari questioned the car companies for having four airbags instead of six airbags in India. He said that when car companies export vehicles to other countries, they put six airbags, sell four in India, is there no value to the lives of Indian people?

When he was asked that the cost of the car could be more than 50-60 thousand rupees by installing six airbags. To this, Gadkari said – this is wrong. If there is a large number of production, then the cost of an airbag will be around Rs 900 only. Gadkari said that in India also the work of launching six airbag vehicles in the market is going on.

Gadkari said – used to break the rules in his youth
In the interview, he told the story of his youth. Gadkari said that in his youth, he himself used to break the rules. Then they didn’t realize how dangerous it was. Gadkari said – At the time of election, four people used to roam around on a scooter and used to hide the number plate with their hands so that challan could not be done. Those were the things then, but now people have to change their mindset, follow the rules.

41 deaths daily due to not wearing seat belt

Whereas it should be for the rear seat belt as well. In the year 2020, 15,146 people lost their lives in road accidents in the country due to not wearing seat belts. That is, 41 deaths daily. More than 1.5 lakh deaths occur in road accidents every year. Read full news here…
