New information has come to light in Delhi’s Nikki murder case. Police have told that before killing Nikki, Sahil got engaged to a girl of his family’s choice and after the murder, he got married with pomp. There was not even a wrinkle on her face during the marriage. It didn’t seem like he had murdered a girl just a while back.

According to the police, 24-year-old Sahil Gehlot had a lot of fun, danced with friends at his engagement on February 9. After the engagement function was over, he took his cousin’s car and reached Nikki’s house at around 1 am. At around 5 in the morning, both reached Nizramuddin railway station to catch the train to Goa.
Nikki wanted to go to Goa but Sahil told her that he did not get the ticket to Goa. After this both reached the bus station to go to Himachal Pradesh, but here also Sahil told that he did not get the ticket. Both left from there. Police say that Sahil wanted to leave Nikki and was wooing her by promising to go on a trip together.
The police further said that Sahil’s marriage was to take place on February 10, so his family members were calling him continuously. When Nikki came to know about this, a fight started between the two. At around 9 am, Sahil strangulated Nikki with a data cable.
After this, he made Nikki’s body sit on the front seat, put on the seat belt and took her to his dhaba. Here he hid Nikki’s body in the boot of the car and went to attend his wedding. Reached the dhaba to install. Police say that he was planning to throw the dead body in a river.
He first took the body out of the car and took it to the fridge of the dhaba. Nikki’s bag was kept near the fridge. Sahil takes out her mobile phone and deletes the data from it. Sahil also deleted all the data related to Nikki from his phone.
Murder revealed after four days
The police came to know about this murder on February 14 when one of Nikki’s neighbors filed a missing report. The matter came to light when the police found her boyfriend Sahil. The police is scanning the CCTV footage of all the places where Sahil has mentioned in his confession. The police have recovered Nikki’s phone and are trying to extract their WhatsApp chats and photos.
Police will have to collect evidence to strengthen the case
Police said that during interrogation, Sahil told that he was unable to decide what to do. But something else is visible in the photo-video of her engagement and marriage. He looks very happy dancing in all the functions of his marriage. Police say that to strengthen the case, they will have to collect technical evidence including strong CCTV footage, forensic investigation.
