NIA action in IED seized from Karnal: Teams reached 7 places including Ludhiana-Firozpur and Gurdaspur, documents related to terrorist Rinda seized

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided 7 different locations in Punjab in connection with the IED seized from Karnal in Haryana last month. During searches at 7 places in Ludhiana, Ferozepur and Gurdaspur districts, the NIA has seized documents and digital equipment related to terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, sitting in Pakistan.

This information was shared by a senior NIA officials. During investigation, it was found that the Pakistan-based operative of Babbar Khalsa International, Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, had delivered explosives, arms and ammunition to India at the behest of Pakistan’s intelligence agency to carry out the terrorist attacks. On the basis of this information, raids were conducted at 7 places in Ludhiana, Ferozepur and Gurdaspur in Punjab on Wednesday, in which digital devices, documents related to financial transactions and property and other incriminating material were recovered.

IED was seized from Karnal on May 5

On May 5, 2022, IED and arms and ammunition were seized from Bastara toll plaza in Karnal district of Haryana. 3 IEDs, 1 pistol, 2 magazines, 31 live rounds, 6 mobiles and 1.30 lakh cash were recovered. Four people who were traveling in a white colored Innova car were also arrested. The case was initially registered at Madhuban police station in Karnal district on 5 May 2022, but the same day the NIA took over the matter and started investigation.
