Next hearing of Morbi accident on July 10: Government said in the High Court – Oreva Group has given compensation, now nothing is left in the PIL; finish the case

The government said in the High Court – the company has also deposited the interim compensation.

In the hearing held on Wednesday in the case of suspension bridge accident in Morbi, Gujarat, the government has appealed to the High Court that now there is nothing left in this PIL and it should be banned. In the legal aid of the court, Jaisukh Patel’s company Ajanta Clock has deposited 135 dead and injured in the legal aid of the interim compensation court.

On behalf of the government, the Advocate General told that the Morbi municipality has been superseded by being termed as ‘incapacitated’. The officials including the Managing Director of the company are in judicial custody. The chief officer of Morbi municipality has been suspended. The affidavit has been filed on behalf of the Urban Housing and Development Authority.

Next hearing will be on July 10
The presentation in the next hearing will be in the prestigious Gujarat High Court. If this matter is clarified somewhere, the truth will come out, under whose representation or on whose back this work was given, its investigation is going on. The court will next hear the issue on July 10.

More than 135 people died
Significantly, the suspension bridge built on the Machhu river in Morbi city collapsed on October 30 last year, in which more than 135 people died. More than 40 children were also among the dead. The bridge was being operated by the Oreva Group under an agreement with Morbi Municipality.

The bridge fell only after 5 days of opening
This bridge broke down just 5 days after it was opened for the common people. About 500 people present on the bridge fell into the river. Of these, 134 have died so far. Women and more than 30 children are also included in the dead. 200 people who were holding the cable-netting of the bridge were saved.
