Birth anniversary of the great Indian mathematician who discovered infinity, in whose memory National Mathematics Day is celebrated

Every year 22 December is celebrated as National Mathematics Day in India. In 2012, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced that December 22, his birthday, would be celebrated as National Mathematics Day in honor of the great mathematician Ramanujan. Srinivasa Ramanujan was born in a Tamil Brahmin Iyengar family on December 22, 1887, in Erode, Tamil Nadu. Ramanujan studied at the Government College in Kumbakonam, but failed in his 12th standard examination due to his lack of interest in non-mathematical subjects. The school in which he failed twice in 12th is now named after Ramanujan.

Ramanujan started working as a clerk in the Madras Port Trust in 1912. It was here that one of his colleagues first recognized his mathematical talent, who was also a mathematician. That colleague told Ramanujan to go to Professor GH Hardy of Trinity College, Cambridge University.

Meanwhile, at the age of 16, Ramanujan got married to Janaki Ammal. But the love for mathematics did not diminish even then. In the meantime, he sent some formulas through letters to Professor GH Hardy of Cambridge University. Hardy was so impressed with him that he invited Ramanujan to London and became his mentor. Together they published many research papers in mathematics. The British also honored his research.

Joining Trinity College, Ramanujan received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in 1916. In 1917 he was given a place in the London Mathematical Society. The next year, he got a place in the Royal Society for his research on mathematics. In October 1918, Ramanujan also became the first Indian to receive a fellowship from Trinity College. In just 32 years of his life, he had done research on more than 4000 such theorems of mathematics, which took years for mathematicians from all over the world to understand. In 1919 he returned to India from London. Ramanujan contracted TB and died a year later in 1920.

There will also be chances of people with Sagittarius having extra income. The day is good for the employed people of Capricorn. know, your horoscope
