New Delhi: Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra recently tied the knot in Jaisalmer while they hosted a grand reception in Mumbai on February 12. It was a star-studded affair and celebrities from B-Town attended the reception and showered their blessings on the newlywed couple. Kiara and Sidharth were garbed in outfits from the shelves of famous designer Manish Malhotra and both of them looked stunning.
While Kiara opted for a black and white flowy gown, Sidharth went for an all-black look. Taking to Instagram, Manish Malhotra decoded their outfit and gave details about the gown and jewellery worn by Kiara and also about the outfit donned by Sidharth.
He began by saying, “The stunning Kiara Advani redefines the power of monochrome in our haute-couture illustrious sculptural gown conveying all the elegant aesthetics.”
Talking about Kiara’s outfit, he said, “The ebony-ivory construction in a velvet satin emphasises the iconic codes with sharp cuts in a wide sleek squared neck and power sleeves romanticised with a fish cut trail. Making a grand statement for the finishing touch, she adorns an exceptional assortment, the look features a magnificent choker, a layered diamond necklace and a long laureate necklace from Manish Malhotra Jewellery.”
The designer also spoke about Sidharth’s outfit. He said, “The handsome Sidharth Malhotra embraces the modern edge in our tailor-made suave velvet suit looking every bit the regal royal debonair.”
Describing the outfit, he further said, “The ensemble features a classic turtleneck paired with a velvet blazer hand embroidered and crafted with black crystals and bugel beads with velvet pants… A classic timeless black-on-black dapper look, pattern cut to perfection.”
He also mentioned that he was assisted by Chandni Prakash and that the photos were clicked by Joseph Radhik. Additionally, he mentioned Kiara’s makeup artist and hair stylist as well who had helped her get the look.
Amid all this, netizens seem a bit disappointed by her look and have expressed themselves in the comments section. They seem to be upset with the use of colour saying that red suits a bride better and that her outfit was more suited for an award show than her wedding reception.
One of them said, “Just a suggestion… Kiara’s outfit is fab & sid looked dapper but her outfit could have been more shiny and glamorous like your other designs rather than monochrome coz she was the bride and it was her reception. It looked quite ordinary and didn’t stand out..it looked more perfect for a Grammy or Oscar’s event.”
Another one said, “Don’t like Kiara’s Gown at all … monochrome look doesn’t work … since she wore emerald jewellery for her wedding, she shouldn’t have worn emerald again… something different maybe Rubies would have been nice…”
A third user wrote, “She doesn’t give out Bridal vibes at all. This looks more like a Red carpet/award night dress..She looked soo uncomfortable adjusting the fish cut trail for the pictures and the assistants kept running to adjust it all the time. ..the jewellery too was a repetition ..the whole look was a huge disappointment !! The other celebrities looked much better than her on her special day..!”
But, then again, there were people who loved her look and wrote, “Absolutely stunned.”, while another person said, “How wonderful they look, Manish.”
The reception was held at St Regis Hotel in south Mumbai. B-town celebrities Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Bachchan, Neetu Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar, Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher, Ishaan Khatter, Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh attended the reception.
