Nautpa is starting in Punjab from today. In the days of Nautapa (from 25 to 31 May) Punjab as well as North India experiences extreme heat, but this year it is not happening. Western Disturbance (WD) has reduced the effect of Nautapa this year. The Meteorological Department has given a yellow alert till May 27.

According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain in Punjab till May 29. There is a yellow alert till 27th and today it will rain in most parts of Punjab. Along with this, strong winds can also blow at a speed of up to 50 km. Hail accompanied by rain is also likely in Fatehgarh Sahib, SBS Nagar, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, SBS Nagar, Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur.

87 mm of rain in SBS Nagar
Barring Bathinda, Mohali districts, all areas of Punjab started the day with rain. Talking about the last 24 hours, 82 mm of rain has been recorded in SBS Nagar. While Ropar recorded 49.5 mm of rain, Jalandhar 36 mm, Fatehgarh Sahib 19.5 mm and Ludhiana 12.8 mm.

In 2022, the maximum temperature in the month of May reached 46 degrees, 44 degrees in 2021, 44 degrees in 2020 and 45 degrees in 2019, but this year it is not so. From 15 to 23 May, the heat showed its strength. In these days itself, the temperature was recorded between 40 to 46 degrees. But now there is a huge drop in temperature due to Western Disturbance.

Amritsar- Today’s minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 22 degrees, which is 1.2 degrees below normal and 3.2 degrees below the previous day. Whereas today the maximum temperature will be recorded around 34 degrees. Amritsar recorded only 0.2 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.

Jalandhar- The minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 19.5 degrees, which is 5.1 degrees less than the previous day. At the same time, 36 mm of rain has been recorded here in the last 24 hours. Today the maximum temperature of the day is estimated to be around 33 degrees.

Ludhiana- The city recorded a minimum temperature of 18.4 degrees Celsius today. There the rainfall was recorded 12.8 mm. Today the maximum temperature here is estimated to be around 33 degrees.
