Jharkhand Police has arrested accused Tanveer Khan in the case of cheating Mumbai model by hiding her name and pressurizing her for religious conversion. Ranchi police said that the accused Tanveer Khan was arrested from Araria district of Bihar. After completing all the procedures, he will be brought to Ranchi.

Bihar-based model Manvi Raj had last month accused the owner of the modeling company, Tanveer Khan, of cheating, befriending her by hiding her religion and pressurizing her to convert to marriage. However, the accused rejected these allegations and accused him of fraud.

Manvi Raj had said that Tanveer, the director of the modeling institute, told me his name was Yash. He cheated on me and became friends with me. After a few days I came to know that his real name is not Yash but Tanveer Akhtar Khan. Tanveer is now forcing me to marry. He also wants to convert me to Islam by getting me converted. When I refused, he threatened to make the objectionable photo viral.

Ranchi SSP Kishore Kaushal had told that Manvi had complained on May 29 at the Versova police station in Mumbai. Since the incident was from Ranchi, Mumbai Police has handed over the case to Ranchi Police. Now we will file an FIR in the matter. Further action will be taken on the basis of investigation. Mumbai Police says that a case was registered against the accused at Versova Police Station under sections 376(2) (N), 328, 506, 504, 323 and IT Act.
