At a recent event, Moushumi Chatterjee took a dig at Jaya Bachchan’s temper with the paparazzi.
Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan is known for her aversion to posing for paparazzi. With a reputation for not tolerating their presence, she doesn’t hesitate to school them when necessary. Known for her temper on red carpets, the paparazzi often find themselves on the receiving end of her anger. Thus, when another veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee was posing for paps and she got mildly irritated with them, a friend compared her to Jaya Bachchan. That prompted her to say “I am a much better person than Jaya Bachchan.”
In a video shared by the paparazzo handle namastebollywood.in, Moushumi Chatterjee can be seen posing at an event. With a wide smile on her face, she obliged paps requesting her to pose a certain way. Even though she got mildly irked, she can be heard saying, “I am a much better person than Jaya Bachchan. Actually, aap log nahi hote toh hum kahaan hote (Actually without you (paps) all we (actors) wouldn’t exist).”
Previously, Moushumi Chatterjee had recalled how she was replaced by Jaya Bachchan in Gulzar’s directorial Koshish. She had shared, “I shot for three days, and I could see what manipulations were done in those three days. I could see Jaya Bachchan’s secretary; she was there from morning to night at the office. And all of a sudden Gulzar da, whom I had known since Geetanjali and who used to teach my mother-in-law Urdu, said, ‘You have got to shoot from tomorrow to little late in the night.’ I had just had a baby and I said, ‘I cannot, I have a child at home. I can only shoot in one shift.’ Then he said in front of everybody, ‘You know so many actresses are there in line to take that spot.’ I got triggered, and I said, ‘Then take them.’”
Although Jaya has been spotted scolding the paparazzi in the past, including at the premiere of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, she was also seen playing along to paparazzi and posed for them at the premiere of The Archies.
