Popular screenwriter SN Swamy is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming Malayalam film Secret, starring Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead role. The makers have unveiled the first look motion poster of the movie, with Malayalam superstar Mammootty revealing it through his production YouTube channel – Mammootty Kampany. The film, written and directed by SN Swamy, known for creating iconic characters like Sethurama Iyer in the blockbuster Malayalam CBI film series and Sagar Alias Jacky for the movie Irupatham Noottandu, is said to delve into the mysteries of astrology. The music for the film is composed by Jakes Bejoy and it is produced by Rajendra Prasad.
The motion poster begins with an establishing shot of a star-lit sky, gradually panning to a table where a book of astrology is placed. Accompanied by thrilling music by Jake Bejoy, the later part of the video depicts Dhyan Sreenivasan sitting in deep contemplation, hinting at the intriguing subject matter revolving around the science of synchronicity, Nimitha Shastra, the power of nature and other coincidences. Renowned superstars such as Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas and Nivin Pauly have also extended their congratulations to the director and shared the motion poster through their official social media handles.
The cinematography for the movie is handled by Jackson Johnson, with editing by Basod T. Baburaj. Swamy, deciding to take on the role of director at this stage in his career, believes that no other director could interpret his vision for the movie as he had conceived it. “I had a peculiar subject in my hand. As I felt that no other director could envision it the way I have conceived it, I decided to helm the movie myself,” said SN Swamy as quoted in the report by Onmanorama.
Swamy started his journey as a screenwriter in 1984 with the movie Chakkarayumma, directed by Sajan and produced by Jagan Appachan. The film starred Madhu, Srividya, Mammootty and Jagathy Sreekumar in pivotal roles.
