‘Mir Jafar is trying to create unrest in Nandigram’, sneers at Shuvendu

Opposition leader Shuvendu Adhikari has been attacked in various ways by grassroots leaders since he joined the BJP. Many have mocked him as ‘Mir Jafar’. This time, Suprakash Giri, son of state fisheries minister Akhil Giri, called him ‘Mir Jafar’.

He said, ‘Mir Jafar of Bengal has repeatedly threatened to file a CBI case against the leaders and activists of the Nandigram land movement. Like other BJP leaders, he is polluting the soil of Bengal. Giri’s son did not stop here. He complained, “Shuvendu Adhikari is trying to create unrest in Nandigram.” However, his aim will never be successful, said Suprakash Giri.

On Monday, not only Suprakash Giri but also Shuvendu was targeted one by one by the grassroots leader of the area Abu Taher from the platform of the Land Eviction Prevention Committee in Nandigram.

Calling Shuvendu Adhikari a ‘traditional Hindu’, he said, ‘Shuvendu Adhikari has cheated by eating Mamata. His father Shishir Adhikari and brother Divyendu Adhikari are both MPs who have won Trinamool tickets. And Shuvendu Adhikari is claiming to be a traditional servant. Abu Taher further quipped, “Shuvendu Adhikari is doing politics on corpses.”

On the other hand, Sheikh Sufian, a grassroots leader of the area, has been implicated in post-election violence. The case is still pending in the Calcutta High Court. Besides him, 11 other leaders have been named in the post-poll violence case. Trinamool leaders have blamed Shuvendu Adhikari for this. They allege that a false case has been filed against them with the help of Shuvendu Adhikari.
