Political mercury may be rising in the mountains of Himachal, but due to winter the temperature has started to drop. After light snowfall in the high altitude areas of Lahaul Spiti in the last 24 hours, the temperature has dropped in most of the stations of the state. Temperatures have dropped below freezing point in Keylong and Kufri.
The minimum temperature in Keylong was recorded at minus 4 degree and Kufri at minus 1.4 degree last night. Similarly, there has been a drop of 1 to 3 degree Celsius in the temperature of other stations of the state.
At the same time, after a mild change in the weather, the minimum temperature of Kalpa has dropped by 1 degree, Manali’s 3 degree and Kotkhai’s minimum temperature has dropped to 4.4 degree Celsius. Due to this, there is a feeling of cold in the morning and evening.
Light rain-snow forecast till November 10
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light snowfall and drizzle at some high altitude places of the state tonight, tomorrow and the day after. It is a matter of relief that the weather will be clear on November 12 i.e. on the polling day in Himachal.
The mercury also dropped in the plains states
After the fresh snowfall on the mountains, a slight drop in temperature has also been observed in the plains states. In Himachal’s neighboring state Chandigarh, the minimum temperature dropped to 15.2 degrees Celsius, Dehradun 14.6 degrees, Amritsar 14.5 degrees, Ambala 16.7 degrees and Delhi 17.2 degrees Celsius.
