Former Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry died on 4 September in a road accident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. A team of Mercedes-Benz officials from Hong Kong came to Thane on Tuesday to investigate the Mercedes car in which Cyrus was traveling at the time of the accident. The crashed car has been kept at the Mercedes-Benz unit in Thane. This team will submit its report to the Mercedes-Benz company. There are 3 experts in the team. This team will also recover the data chip from the car.

The company submitted interim report last week

Mercedes-Benz, in its interim report submitted to Palghar police last week, said the brakes were applied five seconds before the Mercedes car carrying Mistry and three others crashed. Preliminary investigation found speeding and ‘error of judgment’ by the driver caused the car accident.

Cyrus and Jahangir were not wearing seat belts

Police said that the car hit a road divider due to speeding and judgmental error at the time of overtaking. Both Mistry and Jahangir, who lost their lives in the accident, were not wearing seat belts. At the same time, after hitting the divider, the front airbags of the car opened, but the rear airbags did not open at the right time. On Sunday, an eyewitness also said that the car was at a very high speed and hit the divider while overtaking another vehicle from the wrong side.

Multitrauma became the cause of death of Cyrus

According to the postmortem report, Cyrus Mistry suffered severe injuries in the internal parts of the body in the accident. In medical term it is called polytrauma. Because of this, Cyrus Mistry died on the spot. The postmortem of Cyrus and Jehangir took place on late Sunday night at JJ Hospital in Mumbai.

He also has a lot of fractures. Both have been shifted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Monday morning.

Cyrus Pallonji Mistry was born on 4 July 1968. He was the younger son of Pallonji Mistry, the head of Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Cyrus did her early schooling from the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. After this he went to London to study civil engineering. He also had a Master’s degree in Management from the London Business School.

Cyrus joined his family business in 1991. He was appointed as the Director of Shapoorji Pallonji Group in 1994. Under his leadership the company built India’s tallest residential tower, longest railway bridge and largest port.
