IIT-JEE 2011 topper Prudhvi Tej Immadi is an inspiration to many and his story is unlike any other IIT graduate. With AIR 1 in IIT-JEE Advanced, Prudhvi Tej Immadi made it into the news but that was just the beginning of a groundbreaking career for the young man from Andhra Pradesh. While it is believed that IIT graduates get jobs easily, it is worth mentioning that graduating from IIT is not an easy task.
The race for an IIT seat starts even before admission. To get admission to a desired IIT, one needs to score a good AIR in IIT-JEE Advanced. Dozens of IIT aspirants work hard for the IIT-JEE exam but only one manages to score AIR 1. Prudhvi Tej Immadi was one of them. He cleared IIT-JEE 2011 with AIR 1 and went to IIT Bombay to pursue his degree in Electrical Engineering.
Born in Dwaraka Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh, Prudhvi got an international job offer with an annual salary of Rs 70 lakh with Samsung in South Korea even before the internship started in 2014. The same year, he also won the Aditya Birla Scholarship at IIT Bombay. After working for some time in the job, Prudhvi Tej Immadi returned to India in 2016 and started preparing for UPSC.
He appeared for the Civils exam in 2017 and spent more than 14 hours a day preparing. He focused on revising old papers and going through the syllabus. He managed to secure AIR 24 in his UPSC exam. Today, he is the Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL). During his tenure as Managing Director of APTRANSCO, he played a key role in purchasing low-cost power from the open market.
