The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) is considered one of the most competitive examinations in the country. Every year, thousands of aspirants appear for it after preparing for years. Only a few of them are able to clear it, as it requires a lot of hard work, persistence, and patience. Today, let’s look at the success story of a candidate who left his high-paying job and pursued UPSC, and was finally able to clear it in his second attempt. Yash Dhoble was born in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He belonged to a family of doctors, his father being a pathologist and his mother a paediatrician. He completed his schooling at a private school in Ujjain. He was always a bright student and prepared for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) during his 12th grade. After school, he cleared JEE and went on to pursue a BTech degree in mechanical engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. After completing engineering in 2018, he started working for a reputed multinational corporation (MNC).

After working for almost three years with the company, Yash made a life-changing decision in 2021. He was always driven by a deep sense of patriotism and desire to contribute to the nation. He finally decided to quit his job and dedicate himself to preparing for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and the Forest Service Exam. In his first attempt, he was not able to clear it. In his second attempt, he was finally able to crack the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination with AIR 17.

During an interview, Yash revealed details about his UPSC exam preparation. He said that his preparations revolved around hard work and strong fundamentals. He added that he chose forestry and physics as his optional subjects and also took coaching for both of these subjects. According to Yash, choosing physics as his optional subject proved beneficial for him. This saved him from studying two optional subjects simultaneously. Even though he has cleared IFS, he also aims to crack UPSC CSE in the future.
