India is home to several UPSC aspirants, who dream of becoming the civil servant of the nation. Many successfully crack the exam at one go, while others take multiple attempts to do so. There are some aspirants, who even after facing numerous problems, end up clearing the toughest examination of India – UPSC. One such is Uttarakhand’s Himanshu Tyagi. He is currently employed at the position of the Indian Forest Officer ( IFS). Himanshu Tyagi cleared this exam while holding a full time job. Apart from this, IFS Himanshu Tyagi has also cleared JEE and GATE exam. He is now active on social media where he shares the useful tips for the UPSC aspirants. Himanshu Tyagi belonged to a middle class family. His mother is 8th pass, while father is 12th pass. Even though Himanshu Tyagi’s parents themselves were not highly educated, they left no stone unturned in getting their children completed their education. While most of Himanshu’s childhood friends are into farming, he is a government officer. Himanshu’s sister was also the first woman from their village to become an undergraduate. Himanshu Tyagi secured 69 percent marks in his 10th boards. On the advice of his father, he started preparing for the JEE exam.

After passing the exam, he got admission in IIT Roorkee. He became a gold medalist at the institute. He started preparing for the GATE exam during his second year. By securing a good rank in it, he got a government job. Then, Himanshu Tyagi started preparing for the UPSC exam while doing his government job. It was not easy for him. Apart from spending a tedious time in office, he also had to do election duty. So he made a schedule for himself. He used to wake up at 3.30 in the morning and study for 4 hours. Then after coming from the office, we used to revise for half an hour in the evening. He used to watch videos related to studies on the way home and office. At the same time, he used to study for 10 hours on weekends.
