There is a danger of the Banas river coming in spate again due to heavy rains. 3 villages have been cut off due to river water washing away the road to Chanvaya village of Amirgarh.

District Magistrate, District Development Officer and District Superintendent of Police have reached Dhanera. At the same time, rescue and fire teams have also been sent to Amirgarh.

There is still a flood situation in Tharad taluka. There was torrential rain here on Friday from morning to afternoon. The rain stopped in the night, but since this morning it is again raining intermittently.

More than a dozen villages in the taluka are in the grip of floods. 25 NDRF personnel have reached Pavadasan and Duva villages. The villagers trapped in the flood are being evacuated.

It is raining heavily in Dhanera taluka as well. Dhanera Tehsil’s contact with 8 villages has been cut off due to overflowing of many small rivers. At the same time, rail service has been affected due to the washing away of railway tracks near Big Dugdol village.

Dry rivers revived due to heavy rains
Due to heavy rains in the upper areas, water continues to flow into the Banas river. Due to this, water has come in other tributaries connected to it. Due to this, almost all the dry rivers of Banaskantha district have blossomed again.

Water has also started coming in the biggest Dantiwada Dam of Banaskantha. Till 8 am, 48 thousand cusecs of water has been recorded in the dam. The farmers are happy because of this.
