Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on 26 February.

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has sent Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, to judicial custody till March 20. Sisodia will be kept in Tihar Jail. In the hearing held on Monday, Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal sent Sisodia to judicial custody for 14 days.

The CBI counsel said that further remand of Sisodia is not being sought, but in the next 15 days, if needed, custody can be sought again.

  • Pay attention to the appeal of the jail superintendent to keep the accused in the meditation cell.
  • Sisodia should be allowed to keep diary, pen, Bhagwat Geeta and spectacles with him in jail.
  • The former Deputy CM is also allowed to take medicines prescribed in his MLC.
  • Manish Sisodia will now be produced in the court on March 20 at 2 pm.

CBI remand was extended for the first two days
On March 4, the court extended Sisodia’s CBI remand for two days till March 6, which ended on Monday. However, the CBI sought his custody from the court for three days. The court will pronounce its verdict on Sisodia’s bail plea on March 10 at 2 pm.

He was arrested by the CBI on 26 February. He was produced in the court on February 27, from here Sisodia was sent on 5-day CBI remand.

On March 4, the court had sent Sisodia to two-day custody, which was completed today.

CBI asked for 3 days remand, court asked – what is left now?
During the last hearing, the court had asked what was left after CBI sought remand. On this, the CBI’s lawyer had said that Sisodia was not cooperating in the investigation. Now many questions have to be answered from him. He has to be confronted with some witnesses.

In his clarification, Sisodia had alleged that the officers asked him the same question again and again. Due to this I am feeling mental harassment. I appeal to the court to save me from this.

Sisodia’s argument – ​​fully cooperated in the inquiry
On March 3, Sisodia filed a bail application in the lower court. In this petition, he wrote that he has cooperated in the CBI inquiry. They have come whenever they have been called. He argued that there is no valid reason to keep him in custody now, as all the recovery has been done by the CBI.

Sisodia was arrested on 26 February
CBI arrested Sisodia on February 26 after 8 hours of questioning. He was produced in the court on 27 February. The court had given 5 days custody of Sisodia to CBI. On the morning of 28 February, Congress leader and senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Sisodia’s arrest.
