Mamta supreme in West Bengal: State government’s decision – now all universities will not have governor but CM will be chancellor

In all the universities running under the Government of West Bengal, now the Chief Minister of the state will not be the Chancellor. The government will soon introduce a bill to implement it. State Education Minister Bratya Basu gave this information on Thursday. He also said that the state cabinet has indicated its approval for the proposal.

Bill will be brought in the assembly soon
Basu said, “On Thursday, the state cabinet has approved the proposal to replace the governor with the chief minister as the chancellor of all state universities.” This proposal will be introduced as a bill in the assembly soon. At present, the Governor is the Chancellor of all the universities.
