The decision to re-release Valliettan in 4K Atmos follows the success of Spadikam, a Mohanlal starrer directed by Bhadran, which became the first Malayalam film to be released in 4K format and received a tremendous response. Baiju Ambalakkara, the producer of Valliettan, shared insights about this exciting development.
Speaking to a media portal, Baiju Ambalakkara expressed his admiration for the 4K release of Spadikam and his firsthand experience of watching the film in theatres. He emphasized that the younger generation, having missed the chance to witness Valliettan on the big screen, had only seen it on television. This motivated him to re-release the film in 4K format.
However, Baiju also revealed a challenge they encountered. Many scenes from Valliettan had been illicitly uploaded on YouTube videos due to inadvertent copyright violations. To address this issue, they sought a legal stay from the court to prevent further unauthorized sharing. Baiju assured that once these legal matters were resolved, Valliettan would be made available for audiences to experience in 4K quality.
Baiju Ambalakkara also reminisced about watching Valliettan with director Shaji Kailas in 4K Atmos at the Savita Theater in Ernakulam, praising Mammootty’s timeless allure. He eagerly anticipates making Valliettan accessible in 4K format for audiences to relish.
