Wrestlers’ strike against Brij Bhushan, President of Wrestling Federation of India, continues at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police reached Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday with the status report of the case. Here the Delhi Police said that the statements of the victims have been recorded under section 164. Now the matter will be heard on June 27.
Earlier, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s anger erupted on Brij Bhushan. In Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Baba Ramdev said without taking names that the head of the wrestling association talks nonsense about sisters and daughters everyday. He should be arrested immediately.
On the other hand, Dangal girl and BJP leader Babita Phogat has raised questions regarding the strike of the wrestlers. By tweeting, Babita Phogat has raised questions on the leadership of Haryana’s farmer leader Gurnam Chadhuni, calling him an agitator.
Wrestlers, led by Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik, have been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since April 23. He has accused wrestling union president BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh of sexual exploitation.
Mahila Mahapanchayat is going to be held in front of the new Parliament House on 28 May i.e. tomorrow in support of women wrestlers against this, but the Delhi Police did not allow it. On this, the wrestlers said that wherever the Delhi Police stops them, they will hold a mahapanchayat sitting there.
The protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar led by wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik has been going on for more than a month.
Baba Ramdev said – this is a sin
In Bhilwara, Baba Ramdev said that it is very shameful for the country’s wrestlers to sit on a dharna at Jantar Mantar and accuse the wrestling association president of misconduct and adultery. Such a person should be arrested and put behind bars. He is raising his mouth every day and talking nonsense about the mother, sisters and daughters of the country. This is very reprehensible, misdeed and sin.
Brijbhushan called Vinesh Manthara
Following the Supreme Court’s order on Wrestling Association President Brij Bhushan, two FIRs have been registered in Delhi on the complaint of wrestlers. Despite this, Brij Bhushan is continuously making statements about the wrestlers. In UP’s Gonda, Brij Bhushan called wrestler Vinesh Phogat as Manthara. Brij Bhushan said- Vinesh Phogat has come as Manthara for me just as Manthara had played some role in Ramayana, Kaikeyi had played a role.
For the first time there were thousands of wrestlers, this time there are three husbands, three wives and the seventh is none. Just like today we thank Manthara, we thank Kaikeyi, similarly we will thank Vinesh Phogat after a few days. When the full result will come.

Babita Phogat said – agitator is leading
In this case, BJP leader and wrestler Babita Phogat has expressed anger over the strike of the wrestlers. Babita Phogat said- It is very shameful and unfortunate that the movement started from Jantar Mantar is now being led by an agitator like Gurnam Singh Chadhuni.
How can that movement be for the rights of women, in which poisonous words, abuses and threats are being given to the world’s largest political party BJP and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi? The demand and movement raised for the rights of women is now being handed over to anti-national forces and special political families.

Dangal girl got angry on this statement of farmer leader Gurnam Chadhuni
Dangal girl Babita Phogat tweeted a video of farmer leader Gurnam Chadhuni along with her tweet. Which is being told about the mahapanchayat held day before yesterday in favor of wrestlers in Jind. In this, Gurnam Chadhuni is saying- ‘If Modi is so arrogant, then tell him once that we do not arrest Brij Bhushan, then if BJP’s dog also enters Haryana, then tell me, use the stick as much as you want, kill as much as you want. But even the dog of BJP will not enter Haryana.

Wrestlers get first international support
Tokyo Olympic gold medalist and former three-time world champion Risako Kawai of Japan has come out in support of the wrestlers. He has supported by tweeting. First major international support to the movement of women wrestlers
Haryana’s junior women’s coach reached the dharna
Haryana’s junior women’s coach also reached the wrestlers’ dharna at Delhi Jantar Mantar. Women coach has accused Haryana government minister Sandeep Singh of sexual harassment. After which the Sports Ministry was snatched from Sandeep Singh. Although he still remains a minister in the government. After reaching Jantar Mantar, the women’s coach listened to the wrestlers and also told about the excesses meted out to her.
Now read what has happened in the strike so far…
- On 18 January 2023, Vinesh Phogat along with Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia started protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Alleged that Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has sexually exploited many women wrestlers. Vinesh alleged that Brij Bhushan used to stay on the same floor of the hotel where the women wrestlers used to stay.
- After the dispute escalated on January 21, the wrestlers met Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and the strike ended. It was assured that the inquiry report of the committee would come within four weeks, till then Brij Bhushan Singh’s rights are taken away. The period of investigation was extended by two weeks. But this report has not been made public yet.
- On April 23, the wrestlers once again reached Jantar Mantar to protest. He said that we have not got justice and the strike will continue until Brij Bhushan is arrested.
- On April 28, an appeal has also been made in the Supreme Court on behalf of the wrestlers. Following the directions of the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR in this matter. Delhi Police has registered two FIRs. An FIR of sexual harassment of a minor wrestler in which POCSO Act has also been imposed. The second FIR pertains to sexual harassment of adult female wrestlers.
- On the night of 3 May there was a clash between the wrestlers and the policemen. Wrestler Rakesh Yadav and Vinesh Phogat’s brother Dushyant sustained injuries in the clash. While the Delhi Police says that force was not used on the wrestler, 5 policemen were injured.
- On May 7, a mahapanchayat of khaps was held at Jantar Mantar. In this mahapanchayat, the government was given an ultimatum of 15 days to arrest Brijbhushan. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that a mahapanchayat was held again on May 21, in which many decisions were taken. In the evening, Brijbhushan talked about getting narco test done for himself and the wrestlers.
- On May 22, the wrestlers accepted the challenge of getting Brij Bhushan’s narco test done by holding a press conference at Jantar Mantar. Also said that the test process should be under the supervision of the Supreme Court and the entire telecast should be live.
- On May 23, along with wrestlers, a large number of farmers, youth, students and others took out a candle march at India Gate.
- On May 24, Sakshi Malik reached Hisar with her husband Satyavrat Malik, where she invited people for a mahapanchayat to be held in front of the new Parliament House on May 28. Apart from this, a petition was filed in the Patiala House Court to register an FIR against Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat.
- On May 25, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia reached the mahapanchayat organized at Khatkar toll in Jind. Where he invited the people to join the Mahila Mahapanchayat to be held on May 28 in front of the New Parliament House in Delhi.
- On 26 May the wrestlers held a press conference. In which he said that on May 28, he would march from the picket site to the new Parliament House. Meanwhile, wherever the Delhi Police stops them, they will hold a mahapanchayat there itself.
