Recently at the Speaker Polls in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Rahul Narvekar of the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected as the speaker. Rahul Narvekar stood against MVAs Rajan Salvi. Rahul Narvekar won by 164 votes in the polls, making him the youngest elected speaker of Maharashtra.
