A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court is likely to start hearing the Maharashtra political crisis issue on Thursday.
The bench headed by the CJI has framed several questions to be considered by the 5-judge bench, including power of the Speaker and deputy speaker to initiate disqualification, power of courts to consider disqualification petitions, the status of the House.
The CJI-led bench has also said that “Till the Constitution bench takes up the matter let ECI not take up the issue”.
