According to sources, the name of the Maoist leader is Deepak Yadav alias Karu Hulas Yadav on the official website of Jharkhand Police.

An ATS official said that Deepak Yadav, 45, a member of the regional committee of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand, had come to Maharashtra for treatment. According to the official, the ATS launched an operation on Sunday morning and nabbed him from Nalasopara area of ​​Palghar, about 50 km from Mumbai. He told that the ATS is questioning him.

The Thane unit of Maharashtra ATS had received specific information about Yadav, following which the raids were conducted, the official said. He told that Yadav is a resident of Hazaribagh in Jharkhand and had a wound in his left leg. He was in Nalasopara for treatment since two months ago. Yadav was an active member of the CPI (Maoist) since 2004.

Yadav was handed over to the Jharkhand Police on Sunday evening, an ATS officer said.
