Five people drowned at Juhu Beach in Mumbai on Monday out of which 1 was rescued by locals while 4 are still missing, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said.

According to sources, 5 people went for a walk at the Juhu beach when the heavy tide drowned them.

Mumbai is currently facing the effects of Cyclone Biparjoy which is moving parallel to it in the Arabian Sea. The cyclone’s impact on the Maharashtrian capital is slowly getting more apparent. The coastal city, which has been experiencing windy conditions since the start of the weekend, is likely to witness stronger gusts and isolated rains for the next one or two days.
