The Registrar-General of the High Court has given directions to the Principal District Judge, Kancheepuram.

The Madras High Court has issued a circular. It said that the photographs of Mahatma Gandhi and Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar would be installed in the courts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The Registrar General of the High Court has also directed the Principal District Judge, Kanchipuram. He has said that BR Ambedkar’s picture in the new joint court set up in Alandur Bar Association should be removed.

Several senior lawyers had sought permission to inaugurate the Ambedkar statues, which was rejected by the High Court on 11 April. The court also mentioned in the circular about incidents in which statues of national leaders were vandalized and which led to controversy.
