The home minister also attacked Rahul Gandhi for his latest Shakti comment, saying he had no respect for India’s traditions, culture and values

Union home Minister Amit Shah lashed out at Rahul Gandhi for insulting Shakti — the power of women in India — saying the country’s women will teach a lesson to the Congress leader in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at CNN-News18’s Rising Bharat Summit, Shah said the Gandhi scion has no respect for India’s traditions, culture and values. “Nobody should take anything that Rahul Gandhi says seriously. The women of the country are strongly in support of Narendra Modi and his government’s work. They rally behind Modi. The women of the country have decided that in the upcoming elections, they will teach Rahul Gandhi a lesson,” he said.

The home minister, reacting to abuses coming the prime minister’s way — including those wishing for his death — said “nothing happens to those who have the blessings of the entire population”. “But one thing the opposition realised was that every time they abuse Narendra Modi, people respond with their votes and the lotus blooms even more”.

Exhibiting immense confidence on the target that the BJP has set for itself for the upcoming elections, Shah said the last 10 years of the Modi government’s track record will be registered in golden letters in the history of the country.

“From a fragile economic status to becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy, a lot of work has been done by the government for every strata of society. From public schemes like Har Ghar Jal to Ujjwala, from fulfilling decades-old demands like doing away with triple talaq, abrogation of Article 370 and removal of 35A; every promise of the government has been fulfilled. Every word spoken by Narendra Modi has been turned into reality, and that is the power of Modi ki guarantee. The country can be rest assured that once the government returns to power, India will become the third-largest economy of the world,” Shah said on the focus of the government in the future.

One of the biggest thrusts of the Modi government in the ongoing tenure has been on ensuring that the benefits of central government schemes reach the poorest of the poor through the Viksit Bharat Yojana. “The common man of the country has blessed the prime minister by joining this movement. The Vikas of the country has been a reality through the Viksit Bharat Journey,” Shah said.

Highlighting the critical issues that have been the focus of the Modi government, Shah reiterated that focus on peace in Northeast and Kashmir and destroying the ecosystem of the Naxal forces have been the government’s milestones.
