Respected Prime Minister, we are sure that you still feel that India is a democratic country. The arbitrary use of central agencies against opposition leaders shows that we have transformed from a democracy to a dictatorship. Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on 26 February 2023 after a long search. The arrest was made on alleged charges of malpractice and that too without showing any evidence.

The allegations leveled against Sisodiaji are completely baseless. This is an action taken under political conspiracy. This arrest has filled the entire nation with anger. Manish Sisodia is recognized worldwide for the change in Delhi School Education. His arrest is being seen across the world as an example of political action carried out in a spirit of revenge. This is also confirming what the whole world is apprehensive that India’s democratic values are in danger under the dictatorial rule of BJP.

Most of the politicians who have been arrested, raided or interrogated since 2014 under your rule are opposition leaders. The funny thing is that the investigation by central agencies slows down against those opposition leaders who later join BJP. For example, former Congress leader and current CM of Assam Hemant Biswa Sarma. CBI and ED started investigation against him in 2014-2015 in the Saradha chit fund scam. However, since he joined BJP, the case has not progressed since then.

Similarly, Trinamool leaders Shubhendu Adhikari and Mukul Roy were on the radar of ED and CBI in the Narada sting operation case. These people joined BJP before the assembly elections and since then there has been no significant progress in the case. Take the Narayan Rane case of Maharashtra. There are many such examples.

Since 2014, raids on leaders of opposition parties, cases against them and their arrests have increased. Whether it is Lalu Prasad Yadav of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena, Azam Khan of Samajwadi Party, Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh of NCP or Abhishek Banerjee of Trinamool Congress, the manner in which the investigation agencies have Has taken action, it creates a message that they are working under the central government. In many such cases, cases or arrests took place when elections were about to be held. This clearly shows that these actions of the investigating agencies were politically motivated.

The manner in which prominent leaders of the opposition are being targeted gives credence to the allegation that your government is trying to eliminate the opposition by taking the help of investigative agencies. ED is not the only one in which your government is accused of misusing the agencies.

It is clear that these agencies have their priorities wrong. After an International Forensic Financial Research report, SBI and LIC have lost more than Rs 78 thousand crore in market capitalization of their shares due to one company. Why these investigative agencies have not been engaged to investigate the financial anomalies of this company, when public money is invested in this company?
