Legendary India pacer Jhulan Goswami assumes a new role with Bengal cricket

Legendary India pacer Jhulan Goswami recently led the Indian bowling attack in the 2022 Women’s World Cup.

Jhulan Goswami is set to be in a dual role in the Bengal women’s cricket team. Apart from being a player in the senior team, the legendary Indian pacer will also serve Bengal as a mentor to all age-group women’s teams.

On this day, the support staff of other age-based teams was also announced by the Bengal Cricket Association. CAB wants to utilize the experience and skills of Bengal’s former cricketers. The CAB already appointed Laxmi Ratan Shukla as a head coach of Bengal Men’s Team and W.V. Raman as batting coach. Now CAB appointed Indian women’s cricketer Jhulan Goswami as Mentor of Bengal Women Cricket team.

After the women’s World Cup, it was in a speculation that Jhulan Goswami might left cricket for now as Mithali Raj does the same, but Jhulan didn’t retired. Now She will be in a new role for Bengal Cricket.

Jhulan Goswami will be overall mentor-cum-player for Bengal Women’s Team. CAB holds a meeting with Jhulan on Thursday. Announcing this here today, CAB President Avishek Dalmiya said: “Jhulan Goswami will take up the role of mentor-cum-player for the Bengal women’s team across all age-groups. We are happy to announce this. As Her experience will make us positive in many cases. Her Journey as a cricketer is inspiration for all.”
