The government has changed the portfolio of Law Minister Kiren Rijiju. Rijiju has now been given the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Arjun Ram Meghwal will now be the law minister in place of Rijiju. In a notification issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, it has been told that Meghwal has been given independent charge. Meghwal also holds the charge of Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.

Rijiju was appointed Law Minister in July 2021, replacing Ravi Shankar Prasad. In 2019, he was given the responsibility of the Sports Ministry.

Rijiju has been in news for his comments on judges. He had also said about the collegium that no one in the country can warn anyone. A statement was also given on retired judges – some retired judges have become a part of the Anti India group.

1. Some retired judges have almost become part of anti India group
On March 18, at the India Today Conclave, Kiren Rijiju said, “Some retired judges have almost become a part of the Anti India group. These people try to make the Indian judiciary play the role of the opposition. Those who do such things against the country The price has to be paid for this.
