Law Minister Arjun Meghwal ‘Is Corrupt Number One’: Raj BJP MLA Calls For His Removal From Cabi

In a public meeting held in a village, Rajasthan BJP MLA Kailash Meghwal on Monday labeled Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal as “corrupt number one.” The MLA announced his intention to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dismiss Arjun Ram Meghwal from the Council of Ministers due to this allegation, news agency PTI reported. Kailash Meghwal did not provide specific details about the alleged corruption while making the claim during the public meeting in Bhilwara.

Arjun Ram Meghwal, who represents Bikaner in the Parliament, was recently designated as the convenor of the BJP’s election manifesto committee for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections.

“This Arjun Ram Meghwal is corrupt number one. There are cases of corruption against him. I will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding he should be removed from the Council of Ministers,” stated the Shahpura MLA during the event, as quoted by PTI.

Kailash Meghwal further asserted that Arjun Ram Meghwal entered politics as a strategy to escape corruption cases, suggesting that these cases are still ongoing. The MLA went on to allege that Arjun Ram Meghwal’s involvement in corruption dates back to his time as a government officer.

Kailash Meghwal also mentioned, “What I have told the people in the meeting today is right. I am going to write a letter to PM Modi against the minister.”

When asked about the timing of his accusations, considering Arjun Ram Meghwal’s years of service as a minister, Kailash Meghwal clarified that he aimed to inform voters about the alleged misconduct, as he believes Arjun Ram Meghwal has been misleading voters through “dirty politics”, PTI reported

Both Arjun Ram Meghwal and Kailash Meghwal are prominent Dalit leaders within the BJP.

Arjun Ram Meghwal holds the position of Minister of State (independent charge) of Law and Justice, succeeding Kiren Rijiju. He has previously served as the chief whip of the party in the Lok Sabha, and his responsibilities have encompassed portfolios such as finance, corporate affairs, heavy industry and public enterprises, water resources, parliamentary affairs, and culture.

The Union Law Minister is yet to respond to the remarks made by his party colleague.
