Lata Mangeshkar health update: Minimal improvement, says her doctor – Times of India

It has been a week since legendary singer Years Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital after she tested positive for COVID-19. She continues to remain in the ICU at Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai and is under treatment by Associate Professor Dr Pratit Samdani and his team. When ETimes contacted Dr Samdani and asked about the 92-year-old singer’s health update, he said, “She continues to remain in the ICU under observation. There is a minimal improvement from the worst.”

The slight improvement in Lata Mangeshkar’s condition is a positive sign. The singer’s family members have said that she is showing signs of improvement and since this is a case of COVID, keeping the age factor in mind, she needs to remain under observation.

Yesterday, news broke out that Lata Mangeshkar might not be keeping well, but almost instantaneously, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope issued a statement that he was in touch with the doctors at Breach Candy hospital and they had assured him that Lata Mangeshkar was stable. A few hours later, Lata Mangeshkar’s spokesperson also issued a statement rubbishing claims of her health deteriorating.

A family member refuted some media reports that said that her health had worsened and said that Lata Mangeshkar is much better. The family member also said, “Why don’t people understand that she is admitted to a COVID-19 ward and people are not allowed to walk into the ward.”

Fans and well-wishers have expressed their hope on social media, wishing that Lata Mangeshkar makes a steady recovery and is back home soon.
