The court case between Lalit Modi (left) and other family members, including his mother Bina Modi (right), has been going on for almost four years.
Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi has opened a front against his mother along with handing over the command of the family trust to son Ruchir Modi. Modi has showered allegations on his mother Dr. Bina Modi. He wrote- After me this woman (my mother) will destroy my family, will make my children destitute.
Lalit Modi has also apologized unconditionally to former Attorney General and well-known Supreme Court lawyer Mukul Rohatgi by posting an Instagram. In fact, Modi had made many strong comments against Rohatgi in the form of threatening him.
In the KK Modi Family Trust, Lalit Kumar Modi had accused the mother and sister of harassing him even while deciding to resign from the branch head and handing over the command to son Ruchir Modi. Now Lalit Modi has accused the mother of usurping the properties of the Modi family. Lalit Modi has apologized to Mukul Rohatgi for accusing him of mental problem due to harassment from his mother.

1. Mother tried to put my family in financial trouble
Lalit Modi has written- My mother has tried to put me and my family in financial trouble by usurping the properties of the Modi family under the guise of maintaining my father’s legacy. I am very disappointed by this.
2. Mother snatched my and brother’s shares
Modi wrote- The shares were in the name of Sameer and me (as was common in the Modi family) and to maintain our father’s legacy, we gave up our shares. Put them in trust. Now the mother has snatched these shares. His behavior has caused tremendous emotional hurt to me and my family over the years.
Modi said that I have come to the conclusion that I cannot tolerate it any longer. It has also taken a huge toll on my physical and mental health. In order to rebuild my mental and physical health, I have decided to distance myself from this pain. Everything has been handed over to his son Ruchir.
Lalit Modi is seen with wife Meenal, daughter Alia and son Ruchir. Meenal died in 2018 due to cancer. Lalit Modi married Meenal, 9 years elder to himself, in 1991.
3. The mother fooled her lawyers
Lalit Modi told Mukul Rohatgi – My complaint against you was that you repeatedly called me a fugitive without any basis or justification. This is a completely false allegation. Either you did it intentionally, or else you have been framed to defame me in this way.
Modi said- The former Attorney General of India should choose his words carefully. You have a long experience, so I believe that he has fooled you to make false allegations against me.
Lalit Modi and his mother have been at loggerheads for some years over family properties.
4. After me the mother will destitute my children
Accusing his mother, Lalit Modi wrote – I wanted to register my protest that you carelessly agreed to level false allegations against me. I said things that I shouldn’t have said, especially about buying and selling judges etc. These are all gossips. He should not have been charged.
Modi said, ‘I have made this allegation because of my bad state of mind. I had a near death experience, the apprehension that I was in deep depression. After me this woman (my mother) will destroy my family. Will make my children destitute. It was a sad father’s call, for which I sincerely apologise.

Don’t make false allegations on mother’s instigation
Apologizing to Mukal Rohatgi, Lalit Modi wrote- ‘I request you not to make such false allegations on his provocation. You have great stature after holding the biggest legal position. I have full faith in the judges and courts of India. I have been involved in litigation related to BCCI.
When the Congress government illegally demanded confiscation of my passport, it was the court that came to my rescue. I have great respect for the Indian Judiciary. I have handed over the reins of the case to my son Ruchir. I am once again sure that the courts will give justice to me and my family. Will give relief from this unscrupulous attempt by an outsider to usurp Modi’s family property. Sorry for any pain I have caused you.’
Significantly, Lalit Modi is battling Corona and recently he was shifted from Mexico via London Air Ambulance. He is currently on oxygen support and has made these allegations from the hospital itself.
