Know All About Pavitr Prabhakar From Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

New Delhi: Miles Morales is greeted by a bunch of new Spider-Men from the multiverse in the trailer of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’. The neighborhood-friendly Indian spidey known as Pavitr Prabhakar will appear in the animated sequel this time.

In the clip, Pavitr introduces himself briefly to Miles and Gwen during their first encounter. Audiences get their first chance to see Pavitr Prabhakar in the roughly 30-second teaser. In the English version, the voice of Pavitr is given by Deadpool’s Karan Soni, while the Hindi and Punjabi versions feature cricketer Shubman Gill. The anticipation among fans has skyrocketed ever since Sony Pictures released the trailer.

Who is Indian Spider-Man?

Pavitr Prabhakar, a village resident who relocates to the city with his aunt Maya and uncle Bhim to pursue his studies, is the protector of Earth-50101’s Mumbai. Pavitr possesses Spider-Man’s strength, speed, and reflexes, which are unmatched. Furthermore, he has a natural passion for robotics and an incredible intellect.

Despite having difficulty paying his tuition, Pavitr, who was orphaned as a child, is fostered by his uncle and aunt. He is harassed by bullies at school, and only Meera Jain, a student from his school, becomes his friend.

A mighty warrior prince vanquished Rakshasa demons millennia ago using a supernatural amulet. The devils that had been imprisoned now yearn to escape. Meanwhile, a local crime lord named Nalin Oberoi performs an old ritual with an amulet while under the control of a demon bent on opening the portal for more demons to find their way to Earth.

The demon-possessed millionaire hunts Pavitr, sending the demon Dr. Octopus after him, and ultimately gets into a bloody duel with the  spidey. Inheritors, a family of vampires that feeds on the life power of Spider-Totems all over the Multiverse, are another foe that Pavitr battles. In order to defeat the Inheritors, Pavitr works alongside the Multiversal Superior Spider-Army and the bigger Spider-Army.

The Oscar-winning writers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham worked on the script for the animated sequel, which was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K Thompson. Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore each lend their voices to the movie as Miles and Gwen Stacy, respectively. On June 2, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ will be released in India in 10 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam.

A day ahead of its scheduled premiere in the US, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ will have its Indian theatre premiere on June 1.
