Ever since Buckingham Palace announced on February 5 that King Charles was diagnosed with cancer, the British monarch has been receiving immense support from his well-wishers around the world. The 75-year-old monarch who has been battling cancer stated that the messages he has been receiving have been a “source of frequent laughter and good cheer.”
One of the cards that reportedly affected him the most came from a child who told the King to “Never give up. Be brave.” Besides this, the king has got more than 7,000 get well soon cards from across the globe that have lifted his spirits, reported the Mirror.
Another well-wisher said: “Chin up, chest out, remain positive and don’t let it get you down. Trust me, it works, but the main thing is family.” As per the details revealed by the King’s aides, the mountain of cards from his supporters has kept him laughing and has also ‘brought tears’ to his eyes.
A video posted by the Royal Family on its social media channels showed King Charles chuckling at a card while sitting at a desk in the Buckingham Palace. The card showed a dog wearing a collar after receiving medical treatment and stated: “At least you don’t have to wear a cone.” Many people have shared their own experiences of cancer. One well-wisher said: “I wanted to tell you I am thinking of you as you face your own diagnosis and treatment and send prayers and every good wish for a speedy recovery.”

As per insights by the Royal aides, the King was moved by a card sent by a child who asked him to not push his limits and be brave. Another card said: “King Charles, sorry to hear you are not feeling well at the moment. I am wishing you a speedy recovery. Get Well Soon.”
“Your Majesty, King Charles III, we are praying for your speedy recovery,” read another card.
The Palace further stressed the King’s earlier statement regarding the support messages saying: “Such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.” The Mirror quoted another spokesman saying, “To everyone who took the time to write, thank you.”
King Charles will reportedly send a reply to those who have included an address in their cards. During his weekly audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, King Charles confessed that the outpouring support “brings me to tears.”
The Royal aides revealed that despite undergoing weekly treatment at a London hospital, the King has managed to review a set of cards placed daily in his red box of government documents. After the cancer announcement, the palace revealed that Charles had been advised by the doctors to postpone public duties. However, it also shared that the king would continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.
The monarch also expressed his satisfaction in learning that his decision to openly share his diagnosis has resulted in increased searches for information about the disease and symptoms to watch out for, which he finds greatly encouraging, the Mirror reported.
