Kerala Story film crew member receives threat: Unknown person sent message – Don’t step out of the house alone; police provided security

Controversies are increasing regarding the film The Kerala Story. Amid demands to ban the film in several states, a crew member of the film has received a threatening message from an unknown number. It is written in this message, ‘Don’t get out of the house alone. You did not do well by showing this story in the film.

According to the Mumbai Police, the film’s director Sudipto Sen had informed the police about this. Police said that they have provided security to the crew member who received the threat. However, till now no FIR has been registered in this matter as they are yet to receive the complaint in writing.

The Kerala Story film banned in West Bengal

The film The Kerala Story has been banned in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that if the film is screened, the peace and order of the state can be disrupted. He has said in the order given to the Chief Secretary that strict action should be taken if anyone is found violating the order.

Mamta Banerjee said in the press conference on Monday – After Kerala, now Bengal will be targeted. I came to know that the files of Bengal are also being prepared. I will speak to the Chief Minister of Kerala and tell him that some CPM people are also in collusion with the BJP. The facts have been tampered with in this film. If this film continues to run in Bengal, then the communal atmosphere of the state may worsen. These people first insulted the people of Kashmir and now they are insulting the people of Kerala. Kerala High Court refuses to stay Kerala Story
Six petitions were filed in the Kerala High Court to stop the release of the film. During the hearing of these petitions on May 5, a bench of Justice N Nagresh and Justice Sophie Thomas refused to stay the film. The Supreme Court and the Madras High Court have already dismissed the petitions seeking release and ban.

The court said – the film is not against Islam, it is on ISIS. There is nothing objectionable in the trailer. There is also something called Freedom of Speech in the country. Film actors have artistic freedom. We have to balance that too. The court asked the petitioner that what is there in the film that is against Islam?
