The winter session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly began on Monday amid the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute. 300 workers of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP who came to protest against this were stopped by the Karnataka Police at the border. Police have detained NCP leader Hasan Mushrif and Shiv Sena’s Kolhapur district president Vijay Devane. Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has targeted PM Modi for this. He said that PM Modi wants to divide Maharashtra.

The center is making the border of two states an issue
He said that the border of the two states has become an issue because of the central government. The Prime Minister wants to divide Maharashtra. Patole said that despite the meeting between the two Chief Ministers and Home Minister Amit Shah, why are the leaders not allowed to go there? It is clear that the central government is behind this.

Bommai government’s last assembly session begins
According to media reports, the police sent some workers back while some were taken into custody. This is the last assembly session of the BS Bommai government of Karnataka amidst the border dispute. This 10-day session is being held in the new assembly building in Belagavi, which is on the border of both the states. Elections are to be held in the state next year.

In view of the tension due to the border dispute, elaborate security arrangements have been made. Around 5,000 police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in the city.
