Karan Johar’s Cryptic Attack On Merry Christmas Release Date: ‘Clashing On A Date Without…’

New Delhi: The release date of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupati starrer ‘Merry Christmas’ was released on Monday. The film, releasing on December 15, has the same release date as filmmaker Karan Johar’s production ‘Yodha’. Hours after the announcement, Karan Johar indirectly criticised producers and studios for announcing a release date of a movie, which has already been blocked by others “without courtesy of a phone call.”

Karan took to Instagram Threads and wrote: “Clashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers …. If we don’t stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile….”

It seems that Karan cryptically referred to Sriram Raghavan and Ramesh Taurani, who are co-producing Merry Christmas.

Directed by debutant duo Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, ‘Yodha’ stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna. The film was earlier scheduled to be released in November last year and was postponed to July 7, 2023, and then further rescheduled to December 15. The film touted as an action franchise was announced in 2021 by Karan Johar.
