J&K: Hybrid Terrorist Involved In Targeted Killing Dies During Anti-Terror Operation

New Delhi: A hybrid militant who was involved in targeted killings of two non local labourers was shot dead during an anti-terror operation in Jammu Kashmir’s Shopian district, sources told ABP News. Imran Ganei, who was arrested from Shopian for the targeted killings died in a grenade attack on Tuesday.

Confirming the same, Kashmir Zone Police tweeted about the killing of Ganai.

“Based on disclosure of arrested hybrid terrorist and in continuous raids by Police and security forces, another contact has been established between terrorists and security forces at Nowgam Shopian, in which hybrid terrorist namely Imran Bashir Ganaie killed by firing of another terrorist,” Kashmir Police said.

“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition have been recovered from the hideout/site of contact,” they said, and added that search is still going on and further details shall follow.

Two labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed apparently in their sleep when terrorists lobbed a grenade at them on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday in Shopian district of South Kashmir, officials said, quoted by news agency PTI.

According to the officials quoted by the news agency as saying, the two labourers identified as Monish Kumar and Ram Sagar from UP’s Kannauj district — who worked in apple orchards — were sleeping in a tin shed constructed as an out house when the incident took place at around 12:30 am on Tuesday.

Both the labourers were taken to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Ganie, belonging to the terror outfit Lashkar e Taiba was arrested in connection with the case, Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir range) Vijay Kumar had said.
