New Delhi: A suspected militant hideout was busted during a joint search operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police and 23 Rashtriya Rifles Army in the forest areas of Ramban district on Saturday, news agency ANI reported.
As per the report, police recovered arms and ammunition from the spot. A case under Section 7/25 of Arms Act and Section 4 of Explosives Substances Act has been registered at Banihal police station. Further investigation on the matter is underway.

According to a report by news agency PTI, the recoveries included 310 AK-47 rounds, 30 9mm rounds, one 9mm magazine, six AK rifle magazines, one grenade, one tape recorder, one handset with antenna and two cassettes, the officials said.
Three battery terminals, five pencil cells, one negative photo film, one plastic can, a pocket diary, cooper wire and one blade were also recovered, they added.
On Thursday, five alleged overground workers were detained under the Public Safety Act for their engagement in anti-national activities in Ramban.
According to officials, the district magistrate slapped them with charges under the Public Safety Act and were later detained.
The five alleged overground workers detained have been identified as Nazir ahmad Pala of Fagu Doligam, Mohammad Usma Banli of Pogal Kunda, Firdious Ahmad Khan of Krawa, Abdul Hamid Khan of Tethar and Anyatullah wani of Gund Adalkoot, news agency PTI reported.
Earlier on October 13, the Jammu and Kashmir security forces had recovered three suspected Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) apart from tactical maps of some bridges from an abandoned bag in Ramban district.
