According to the information, the accused youth took this step due to one-sided love. Police said that the incident happened on Tuesday when the girl was sleeping in her house. Then accused Shahrukh set it on fire by spraying petrol on him from the window. At present, the girl student has been admitted to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition. At the same time, after the incident, there has been an atmosphere of tension in the area, in view of which a large number of police forces have been deployed there. The accused has also been arrested.

According to the city police station in-charge Nitish Kumar, this incident took place on Tuesday in Jeruwadih locality under Dumka Nagar police station area. The accused Shahrukh, who is a laborer by profession, does the work of installing tiles etc. in the houses, he was unilaterally in love with a 19-year-old girl student living in his neighbourhood. When he expressed his love for the girl, he turned down her proposal. The accused got annoyed by this behavior of the student. After this he started looking for an opportunity to take revenge on her. On Tuesday morning, seeing the opportunity, when the girl student was sleeping in her house, she sprinkled petrol on her from the window and set her on fire.

The reason given by the student
In a statement given to an executive magistrate, the student said that the accused called her on her mobile about 10 days ago and instigated her to be friends. After this, despite her refusal, the accused called her again on Monday night around 8 pm and said that if I do not talk to her, she will kill me. I told my father about the threat after which he assured me that he would talk to the family members of the accused on Tuesday. After this everyone went to sleep and it happened on Tuesday morning. The girl said that she saw the accused running away. He told that his parents put out the fire and took him to the hospital.

Nagar police station in-charge Nitish Kumar told that the 12th class girl was admitted to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital in critical condition with burns of up to 90 percent. He is undergoing treatment there, but his condition remains critical. At the same time, in view of the tension spread in the area, police force has been deployed in the area. The accused has been arrested and is being interrogated.
