Seven people have been arrested for raping a 17-year-old girl and uploading her video on social media in Godda district of Jharkhand. The rape incident took place on Monday. Police said that a girl was allegedly gang-raped by criminals after taking her to a secluded place in the area of Rajabhitta police station area.
On the complaint of the mother of the minor victim, an FIR was registered against seven accused under the case number 11/2022 at Rajabhita police station on Tuesday.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anand Mohan Singh said that after getting information about the incident, the victim was sent to the local Sadar Hospital for medical examination, after that a police team was formed and raids were conducted to arrest the seven accused and on Wednesday. All of them were arrested.
The arrested accused include Ruben Malto, Ashish Malto, Sukumar Malto, Vipin Malto, Amar Malto, Ankit Malto and Sameer Malto, the official said.
He said that after the arrest, all the accused have accepted their involvement in this gang rape case. The police have also confiscated the mobile from which the video of the gang rape was made viral.
